Connie Francis was born Constance Franconero, in New Jersey on December 12th 1938. At the age of 16, she signed for M.G.M. Records, but it was two years later before her recording career took off. It was her father who suggested that she record “Who’s Sorry Now”, which went straight into number 1 in 1958.
Following this, Connie astounded the record industry and the world at large, with five consecutive hits in the single year of 1958. She achieved the unparalleled distinction of selling over 7 million records in a 12 month period. The rest of her story is history. Hit after hit followed which finally made her an international star, who has been in demand for concert and TV appearances for over 25 years.
